About Moi

I was born in June 1981, I'm a hearing impaired paper-crafter who loves all things crafty. I sew, although I'm still very much a novice at sewing. I bake and cook hopefully all kinds of delicious treats. I have a huge passion for photography and the camera {yes I'm old school I still use an actual camera} is never far from me. I also love creative writing from making up sentiments/verses for my cards and other paper-craft projects to penning some fiction. I am an avid reader and if you are very unlucky I may even throw in some book reviews on here too!

Challenge Card

I totally adore this image and really enjoyed spending several hours colouring it.  I wanted to make the card simple because the image is so wonderful and amazing I didn't want the card to detract from it.  So here it is my odd card with an amazing wonderful image I am so lucky to have been able to have used.

This card with the extra special image {have I mentioned that already lol} is hopefully suitable for the Ike's world challenge.

The image is the freebie image on the challenge from IKE's ART

winter challenge card

For this card I used a witch and what should be a robin although i know my colouring is off. I die cut snowflakes from a sparkly vellum and hand drew/cut the icicles then glittered them. I hope it fits ok with the challenge. Both of the images are from IKE's ART and the challenge I am entering is the IKE's WORLD Challenges.

Move inspired card

This was made for the Delicious Doodles challenge, I couldn't decide between Dirty Dancing and Enchanted, i suspect this is more Enchanted than Dirty Dancing though.

Sunset LO

An LO made for the Delicious Doodles no designer paper challenge.  The photos were taken over the summer of 2013.  I've used sunset colours for the ribbon and distress inks and clear embossing powder to enhance the pattern on my tag. I finished the page with some tiny sparkle gems which I glued on in a hand drawn {with glue} swirls.

Art Journaling and possible MMM entry

Yes I've been art journaling again in fact I've become quite addicted to it.

This time I've aged the paper using old paper distress ink, then used either cocoa brown memento or archival sepia inks to stamp the backgrounds.  Because I wanted dimension to these pages I have decoupaged some of the background and added a couple squares of paper.

I'm not really sure this fits the MMM requirements as it is a background but I'm not sure a background to journaling is the same as a background to a card, either way I enjoyed it and I hope anyone who reads this finds the MMM blog via the link above and supports them.

Easter fun

I will asap post some easter foods over on scrumptious delights but for now here is the 'crafty' side of my easter.  I have whipped up some very quick name place cards, menu, placemates, table center piece and some favour boxes for todays Easter Lunch/tea.

I have mostly used stamps and coloured them, with the odd bit of paint for altering boxes.  It's all very simple and doesn't take long but does add a bit of fun to the table.  The center piece was the most difficult to make, I painted the basket then wrapped with cold melt glue gun glue ribbon to the handle and around the middle of the basket before gluing the rabbit stamps onto the basket.  I decopatched the eggs to go in the basket...which were just normal polystyrene eggs, £2 for 8 I think they were.
